50% Standards Aligned Academics Students learn financial, real life math skills. Students gain high school credits in applied science and biology. Students learn US history through visiting museums and local historical sites.
25% Life Skills Development: Dedicated time for developing essential independent living skills, including public transit training, preparing meals and vocational training.
25% Community Inclusion & Work-Based Learning: We actively integrate students into the local community through meaningful experiences, fulfilling the OCS requirements for school-based training, community-based training, and competitive employment. This fosters vital workplace readiness and promotes confident social integration.
Partnering with Wake Tech
OCS students who are ready to plan for their future can access the free College & Career Promise Program at Wake Tech, where they can explore a variety of trades, including auto mechanics, construction, and culinary skills. Additionally, GoRaleigh provides fare-free direct transportation between Rolesville and the Scott Northern Wake Tech Campus, making these opportunities even more accessible.

Class Time
From Tuesday to Friday, between 8 AM and 12 PM, students at Perry Academy engage in focused academic sessions led by a master's level instructor. The curriculum is aligned with North Carolina Education Standards, ensuring students progress toward their full potential and meet state graduation requirements.

Exploratory Time
Perry Academy students dedicate Exploration Hours to pursuing passions outside of the classroom. These hours can be earned by engaging in variety of ways including: field trips, organized sports, arts and crafts, reading, volunteering, or competitive employment. Instructors and families partner to tailor a plan, defining attainable hourly targets for each student’s success.
